GENERAL OFFICER AND FLAG ASSIGNMENTS

Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. John P. Jumper announced today the following assignments:

Maj. Gen. Glen D. Shaffer is being assigned as director for intelligence, J-2, Joint Staff Defense Intelligence Agency, Pentagon, Washington, D.C. Shaffer is currently assigned as director, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, deputy chief of staff, Air and Space Operations, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Pentagon, Washington, D.C.

Maj. Gen. (s) Ronald F. Sams is being assigned as director, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, deputy chief of staff, Air and Space Operations, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Pentagon, Washington, D.C. Sams is currently assigned as inspector general, Headquarters Air Combat Command, Langley Air Force Base, Va.

REAR ADMIRAL

Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Vern Clark announced today that Navy Rear Adm. Terrance T. Etnyre is being assigned as commander, Naval Surface Force, U.S. Atlantic Fleet. Etnyre is currently assigned as commander, Cruiser Destroyer Group One.

BRIGADIER GENERAL

Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. John P. Jumper announced today the following assignments:

Brig. Gen. Curtis M. Bedke is being assigned as inspector general, Headquarters Air Combat Command, Langley Air Force Base, Va. Bedke is currently assigned as commander, 2nd Bomb Wing, Air Combat Command, Barksdale Air Force Base, La.

Brig. Gen. Arthur F. Diehl III is being assigned as deputy director of Engagement, J-5, U.S. Central Command, MacDill Air Force Base, Fla. Diehl is currently assigned as director, Marketing, Secretary of the Air Force Office of Public Affairs, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Pentagon, Washington, D.C.

Brig. Gen. Henry L. Taylor is being assigned as vice director, J-4, Joint Staff, Washington, D.C. Taylor is currently assigned as deputy director, Logistics Operations, Headquarters Air Force Materiel Command, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio.

Army Chief of Staff Gen. Erik K. Shinseki announced today the following assignments:

Brig. Gen. Daniel A. Hahn is being assigned as chief of staff, V Corps, U.S. Army Europe and Seventh Army, Germany. Hahn is currently serving as assistant division commander (Support), 3d Infantry Division (Mechanized), Fort Stewart, Ga.

Brig. Gen. Ricky Lynch is being assigned as assistant chief of staff, Operations, KFOR (Main), Film City, Camp Bondsteel, Kosovo. Lynch is currently serving as assistant division commander (Support), 4th Infantry Division (Mechanized), Fort Hood, Texas. Lynch was previously announced for assignment as assistant chief of staff for military operations, Stabilization Force (Sarajevo).

Brig. Gen. Kenneth J. Quinlan, Jr. is being assigned as assistant chief of staff for military operations, Stabilization Force (Sarajevo). Quinlan is currently serving as chief of staff, V Corps, U.S. Army Europe and Seventh Army, Germany.

REAR ADMIRAL (LOWER HALF)

Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Vern Clark announced today the following assignments:

Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Steven E. Hart is being assigned as medical inspector general, Bureau of Medicine. Hart is currently assigned as assistant chief for operational medicine and fleet support, Med-02, Bureau of Medicine.

Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Joseph P. VanLandingham is being assigned as director for homeland security, Bureau of Medicine and director of the Medical Service Corps. VanLandingham is currently assigned as medical inspector general, Bureau of Medicine and director of the Medical Service Corps and assistant chief for plans, analysis and evaluation, Med-08, Bureau of Medicine.

Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) (selectee) Nancy J. Lescavage is being assigned as commander, Navy Medicine Institute for Learning Excellence and director of the Nurse Corps. Lescavage is currently assigned as assistant chief for healthcare operations, Med-03B, Bureau of Medicine and director of the Nurse Corps.
