Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announced today that the president has made the following nominations:
Navy Rear Adm. Phillip M. Balisle has been nominated for appointment to the rank of vice admiral with assignment as commander, Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C. Balisle is currently serving as director, Surface Warfare Division, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Pentagon, Washington, D.C.
Navy Rear Adm. Robert F. Willard has been nominated for appointment to the rank of vice admiral with assignment as commander, Seventh Fleet, Yokosuka, Japan. Willard is currently serving as deputy and chief of staff, U.S. Pacific Fleet, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.
