FLAG OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announced today that the president has nominated Navy Vice Adm. Edmund P. Giambastiani, for appointment to the rank of admiral with assignment as the commander, U.S. Joint Forces Command, Norfolk, Va. Giambastiani is currently serving as the senior military assistant to the Secretary of Defense, the Pentagon, Washington, D.C.
