ARMED FORCES RETIREMENT HOME NAMES CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER
The Department of Defense announced today the selection of Timothy C. Cox as chief operating officer of the Armed Forces Retirement Home (AFRH).
The AFRH, with campuses located in Washington, D.C., and Gulfport, Miss., is home to about 1,500 veterans and retirees from the military Services.
The National Defense Authorization Act of 2002 provided for a permanent change in the home's management structure, including the appointment of a chief operating officer by the secretary of defense. On Sept. 3, Cox will replace the board that has governed the AFRH for more than 10 years.
Cox's credentials include an extensive career in the eldercare industry and expertise in continuing care retirement communities.
