Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announced today that the president has made the following nominations:
Air Force Lt. Gen. Glen W. Moorhead III has been nominated for appointment to the rank of lieutenant general with assignment as commander, Allied Air Forces South and commander, Sixteenth Air Force, U.S. Air Forces in Europe, Naples, Italy. Moorhead is currently serving as vice commander, U.S. Air Forces in Europe, Ramstein Air Base, Germany.
Air Force Maj. Gen. John D.W. Corley has been nominated for appointment to the rank of lieutenant general with assignment as principal deputy assistant secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition, Department of the Air Force, Pentagon, Washington, D.C. Corley is currently serving as mission area director, Global Power, Office of the Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition, Washington, D.C.
