Army Chief of Staff Gen. Eric K. Shinseki announces the assignments of the following general officers:
Maj. Gen. Terry L. Tucker is being assigned as commanding general, U.S. Army Armor Center and Fort Knox, Fort Knox, Ky. Tucker is currently serving as deputy inspector general, Office of the Secretary of the Army, Washington, D.C.
Maj. Gen. R. Steven Whitcomb is being assigned as chief of staff, U.S. Central Command, MacDill Air Force Base, Fla. Whitcomb is currently serving as commanding general, U.S. Army Armor Center and Fort Knox, Fort Knox, Ky.
REAR ADMIRAL LOWER HALF
Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Vern Clark announced today that Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Robert T. Conway, Jr. is being assigned as commander, Expeditionary Strike Group in San Diego. Conway is currently assigned as commander, Navy Region Hawaii and commander, Naval Surface Group, Middle Pacific.
