Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announced today that the president has nominated Navy Rear Adm. Albert T. Church III for appointment to the rank of vice admiral with assignment as inspector general, Department of the Navy, Washington, D.C. Church is currently serving as director, Office of Budget, Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Financial Management and Comptroller, and director, Fiscal Management Division, N82, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Pentagon, Washington, D.C.

BRIGADIER GENERAL

Army Chief of Staff Gen. Eric K. Shinseki announced today that Army Col. (promotable) Salvatore F. Cambria is being assigned as commander, Special Operations Command (South), U.S. Southern Command, U.S. Naval Station Roosevelt Roads, Puerto Rico. Cambria is currently assigned as military fellow, Council on Foreign Relations, New York, N.Y.
