GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT

Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announced today that the president has nominated Marine Corps Reserve Col. James L. Williams for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Williams is currently serving as the deputy director for Operations, Combined Joint Task Force-180, Afghanistan.
