GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT

Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announced today that the president has nominated Army Col. Sheila R. Baxter for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Baxter is currently serving as chief of staff, U.S. Army Medical Research and Materiel Command, Fort Detrick, Md.
