DOD IDENTIFIES ARMY PILOTS IN DOWNED APACHE AIRCRAFT

The Department of Defense announced today the identities of two Army Pilots in the March 23 downed Apache aircraft. The status of the pilots has been listed as Duty Status Whereabouts Unknown (DUSTWUN). Their names are:

Chief Warrant Officer David S. Williams, 30, Florida (city not available)

Chief Warrant Officer Ronald D. Young, Jr., 26, Lithia Springs, Ga.

Williams and Young are assigned to 1st Battalion, 227th Aviation Regiment, Fort Hood, Texas. The incident is under investigation.
