GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William J. Perry announced today that the President has
nominated Major General George T. Babbitt, Jr., United States Air Force, for
appointment to the grade of lieutenant general with assignment as Deputy Chief
of Staff, Logistics, Headquarters United States Air Force, Pentagon, Washington
DC. General Babbitt is currently assigned as Deputy Director, Material
Management, Defense Logistics Agency, Cameron Station, Virginia.
General Babbitt was born June 22, 1942, in Bremerton, Washington.
