GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William J. Perry announced today that the President has
nominated Lieutenant General Kenneth R. Wykle, United States Army, to be placed
on the retired list in his current grade. Lieutenant General Wykle will retire
after completion of more than 32 years of service. Since August 1993, he has
been serving as the Deputy Commander in Chief/Chief of Staff, United States
Transportation Command.
Lieutenant General Wykle was born on October 20, 1941, in Ronceverte, West
Virginia.
