FLAG OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William J. Perry announced today that the President has
nominated Rear Admiral James R. Fitzgerald, U.S. Navy, for appointment to the
grade of vice admiral and assignment as Inspector General, Department of the
Navy in Washington D.C. Rear Admiral Fitzgerald is currently serving as Deputy
and Chief of Staff, U.S. Pacific Fleet in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.
Rear Admiral Fitzgerald was born December 22, 1939 in New York, New York.
