Marine Corps, Air Force, Navy, Coast Guard, Army, and Air National Guard
photographers and photojournalists shared winning honors in the 1994 Military
Photographers of the Year competition. This annual competition is jointly
sponsored by the Department of Defense's American Forces Information Service
and the National Press Photographers Association.
Staff Sgt. Kenneth D. Wright, U.S Air Force, from the 30th Communication
Squadron, Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif., has been named the Military
Photographer of the Year for 1994.
Petty Officer 2nd Class Peter D. Watson, U.S. Navy, of Navy Broadcasting
Service Detachment, Keflavik, Iceland, has been named the 1994 Military
Videographer of the Year.
U.S. Army Lt. Gen. Daniel Christman, Assistant to the Chairman, Joint Chiefs
of Staff, will present the awards to the winners along, with the first place
winners in the various categories in the Department of Defense Briefing Studio
on May 19, 1995.
The 1994 Military Photographer of the Year, Videographer of the Year, and
first place winners in the various categories of the competition will be
invited by the National Press Photographers Association to attend the White
House Press Photographer's dinner on May 20, 1995.
