Flag Officer Announcement
Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announced today that the president has nominated Navy Rear Adm. Rodney P. Rempt for appointment to the rank of vice admiral and with assignment as superintendent, U.S. Naval Academy, Annapolis, Md. Rempt is currently serving as president, Naval War College, Newport, R.I.
