DoD Identifies Army Casualties

            The Department of Defense announced today the deaths of two soldiers who were supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.

 

            Pvt. Joseph R. Guerrera, 20, of Dunn, N.C., was killed on Oct. 26 in Baghdad, Iraq. Guerrera was on patrol when his vehicle was hit with an improvised explosive device.  Guerrera was assigned to C Company, 2nd Battalion, 325th Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, N.C.

 

            Pvt. Jonathan I. Falaniko, 20, of Pago Pago, American Samoa, was killed in action on Oct. 27 in Baghdad, Iraq.  Falaniko was near the Al Khadra Police Station in downtown Baghdad when a vehicle containing an improvised explosive device detonated.  Falaniko was assigned to A Company, 70th Engineer Battalion, 1st Armored Division, Fort Riley, Kan.

 

            These incidents are under investigation.
