DoD Identifies Army Casualty
The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Sgt. Francisco Martinez, 28, of Humacao, Puerto Rico, was killed on Nov. 4 in Baghdad, Iraq. Martinez was in a convoy when an improvised explosive device exploded. Martinez died of his injuries.
Martinez was assigned to B Detachment, 82nd Soldier Support Battalion (Airborne), Fort Bragg, N.C.
The incident is under investigation.
