DoD Identifies Army Casualty

            The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom. 

            Sgt. Major Phillip R. Albert, 41, of Terryville, Conn. was killed in a helicopter crash on Nov. 23 in Afghanistan.  Albert was onboard an MH-53 helicopter conducting combat operations when it crashed.

            Albert was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 87th Infantry Regiment, 10th Mountain Division, based in Fort Drum, N.Y.

            The incident is under investigation.
