GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William Perry announced today that the President has
nominated Major General Thomas A. Schwartz, United States Army, for appointment
to the grade of lieutenant general and assignment as Commanding General, III
Corps and Fort Hood. Since October 1993, he has served as the Commanding
General, 4th Infantry Division (Mechanized).
Major General Schwartz was born on March 7, 1945, in St. Paul, Minnesota.
