GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William J. Perry announced today that the President hasnominated Lt. Gen. Richard M. Scofield, United States Air Force, foradvancement on the retired list in the grade of lieutenant general.
Scofieldis currently assigned as commander, Aeronautical Systems Center, Air ForceMateriel Command, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio.
Scofield was born April 6, 1938, in Hartford, Conn.
