GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William J. Perry announced today that the President hasnominated Lt. Gen. Eugene E. Habiger, United States Air Force, for appointmentto the grade of general with assignment as Commander in Chief, United StatesStrategic Command, Offutt Air Force Base, Neb.
Habiger is currently assignedas Deputy Chief of Staff, Personnel, Headquarters United States Air Force,Pentagon, Washington, D.C.
Habiger was born June 11, 1939, in Oakland, Calif.
