Army Chief of Staff Gen. Peter J. Schoomaker announced today the assignment of the following general officers:
Army Brig. Gen. Jeffery W. Hammond, deputy chief of staff for operations, G-3, Allied Command Europe Rapid Reaction Corps, Germany, to assistant division commander, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas, with a report date to be determined.
Army Brig. Gen. Stephen R. Layfield, deputy commanding general and assistant commandant, U.S. Army Infantry Center and School, Fort Benning, Ga., to deputy chief of staff for operations, G-3, Allied Command Europe Rapid Reaction Corps, Germany, with a report date to be determined.
