DoD Identifes Marine Casualty

The Department of Defense announced today the death of two Marines who were supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.

1st Lt. Oscar Jimenez, 34, of San Diego, Calif., died April 11 due to enemy fire in Al Anbar Province, Iraq. He was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, at Twentynine Palms, Calif.

Pfc. George D. Torres, 23, of Long Beach, Calif., died April 11 due to enemy fire in Al Anbar Province, Iraq. He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, Calif.
