DoD Identifies Army Casualty
The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Spc. Allen J. Vandayburg, 20, of Mansfield, Ohio, died Apr. 9, in Barez, Iraq when a rocket-propelled grenade struck his vehicle. Vandayburg was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 2nd Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division, Vilseck, Germany.
The incident is under investigation.
