FLAG OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William J. Perry announced today that the President has
nominated Vice Adm. John M. McConnell, U.S. Navy, to be placed on the retired
list in his current grade. McConnell is scheduled to retire Feb. 1, 1996,
after completion of more than 29 years of active service. He is currently
serving as director, National Security Agency/chief, Central Security Service,
Fort Meade, Md.
