DoD Identifies Army Casualty

The Department of Defense announced today the death of a Soldier who was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.

Spc. Phillip L. Witkowski, 24, of Fredonia, N.Y., died May 1, in Homburg, Germany, from non-combat related injuries sustained on April 30, in Kandahar, Afghanistan. Spc. Witkowski was assigned to the Armys 7th Field Artillery, 25th Infantry Division (Light) from Schofield Barracks, Honolulu, Hawaii.

The incident is under investigation.
