GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William J. Perry announced today that the President has
nominated Maj. Gen. Patrick M. Hughes, U.S. Army, for appointment to the grade
of lieutenant general and assignment as director, Defense Intelligence Agency.
Since August 1994, he has served as the director for Intelligence, J-2, Joint
Staff, Defense Intelligence Agency, Washington, DC.
Hughes was born on Sept. 19, 1942, in Great Falls, Mont.
