Flag Officer Announcements
Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announced today that the President has made the following nominations:
Navy Rear Adm. James G. Stavridis for appointment to the grade of vice admiral and assignment as senior military assistant to the Secretary of Defense, Pentagon, Washington, DC. Stavridis is currently serving as commander, Cruiser Destroyer Group TWELVE, Mayport, Fla.
Navy Rear Adm. James M. Zortman for appointment to the grade of vice admiral and assignment as commander, Naval Air Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet, San Diego, Calif. Zortman is currently serving as commander, Naval Air Force, U.S. Atlantic Fleet, Norfolk, Va.
