General Officer Announcement
Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announced today that the President has nominated Army Lt. Gen. Benjamin S. Griffin for appointment to the grade of general and assignment as commanding general, U. S. Army Materiel Command, Fort Belvoir, Va. Griffin is serving as the deputy chief of staff, G-8, U.S. Army, Washington, D.C.
