GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William J. Perry announced today that the President has
nominated General Leon E. Salomon, United States Army, to be placed on the
retired list in his current grade. General Salomon will retire after
completion of more than 37 years of active service. Since February 11, 1994,
he has been serving as the Commanding General, United States Army Materiel
Command, Alexandria, Virginia.
General Salomon was born on April 27, 1936, in Chicago, Illinois.
