Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announced today that the President has made the following nominations:
Army Lt. Gen. James J. Lovelace for reappointment to the rank of lieutenant general and assignment as deputy chief of staff, G-3, U.S. Army, Washington, D.C. Lovelace is currently serving as the director of the army staff, Office of the Chief of Staff, U.S. Army, Washington, D.C.
Army Maj. Gen. James M. Dubik for appointment to the rank of lieutenant general and assignment as commanding general, I Corps and Fort Lewis, Fort Lewis, Wash. Dubik is currently serving as the director for joint experimentation, J-9, U.S. Joint Forces Command, Norfolk, Va.
Army Maj. Gen. Robert L. Van Antwerp, Jr. for appointment to the rank of lieutenant general and assignment as commanding general, U.S. Army Accessions Command and deputy commanding general for initial military training, U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command, Fort Monroe, Va. Van Antwerp was previously serving as commanding general, U.S. Army Maneuver Support Center and Fort Leonard Wood and commandant, U.S. Army Engineer School, Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.
Army Col. Gerald E. Ferguson for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Ferguson is currently assigned to the strategy, plans and policy directorate, Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-3, U.S. Army, Washington, D.C.
