GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William J. Perry announced today that the President has
nominated Gen. Richard E. Hawley, United States Air Force, for reappointment to
the grade of general with assignment as commander, Air Combat Command, Langley
AFB, Va. Hawley is currently assigned as the commander, Allied Air Forces
Central Europe; commander, United States Air Forces Europe; and Air Force
component commander, United States European Command, Ramstein AB, Germany.
Hawley was born Jan. 2, 1942, in Albany, NY.
