DoD Identifies Army Casualty

The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Sgt. Jacob H. Demand, 29, of Palouse, Wash., died Sept. 14 in Mosul, Iraq, when his patrol was attacked by enemy forces. Demand was assigned to the 1st Squadron, 14th Cavalry Regiment, Fort Lewis, Wash.

The incident is under investigation.
