DoD Identifies Army Casualty

The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Spc. Morgen N. Jacobs, 20, of Santa Cruz, Calif., died Oct. 7 in Tikrit, Iraq, of injuries sustained in Aaliyah on Oct. 6 when an improvised explosive device detonated near his patrol vehicle. Jacobs was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 18th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division, Schweinfurt, Germany.
