DoD Identifies Army Casualty

The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Pvt. Justin R. Yoemans, 20, of Eufaula, Ala., died Nov. 6 at the 31st Combat Support Hospital in Baghdad, Iraq, from wounds sustained earlier that day in Baghdad, Iraq, when a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device detonated near his up-armored HMMWV. Yoemans was assigned to the 4th Battalion, 5th Air Defense Artillery, Fort Hood, Texas.
