GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William J. Perry announced today that the President has
nominated Lt. Gen. Ralph E. Eberhart, United States Air Force, for
reappointment to the grade of lieutenant general with assignment as commander,
United States Forces Japan; and commander, Fifth Air Force, Pacific Air Forces,
Yokota AB, Japan. Eberhart is currently assigned as the deputy chief of staff,
Plans and Operations, Headquarters United States Air Force, Pentagon,
Washington D.C.
Eberhart was born Dec. 6, 1946, in Nevada, Mo.
