The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Spc. Jose A. Rivera-Serrano, 26, from Mayaquez, Puerto Rico, died Dec. 27 in Baghdad, Iraq, from wounds sustained when an improvised explosive device hit his vehicle. Rivera-Serrano was assigned to the 2d Battalion, 5th Cavalry Regiment, Fort Hood, Texas.
