GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William J. Perry announced today that the President has
nominated Lt. Gen. Richard B. Myers, United States Air Force, for reappointment
to the grade of lieutenant general with assignment as assistant to the chairman
of the joint chiefs of staff, Joint Staff, Pentagon, Washington, D.C. Myers
is currently assigned as commander, United States Forces Japan, United States
Pacific Command; and commander, Fifth Air Force, Pacific Air Forces, Yokota
AB, Japan.
Myers was born March 1, 1942, in Kansas City, Mo.
