The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Sgt. Lindsey T. James, 23, of Urbana, Mo., died Jan. 29 in Baghdad, Iraq, from injuries sustained when an improvised explosive device detonated near his dismounted patrol. James was assigned to the 2d Battalion, 14th Infantry Regiment, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry), Fort Drum, N.Y.
