The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Spc. Clinton R. Gertson, 26, of Houston, Texas, died 19 Feb. in Mosul, Iraq, from injuries sustained from enemy forces small arms fire. Gertson was assigned to 1st Battalion, 24th Infantry Regiment, Fort Lewis, Wash.
