Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announced today that the president has nominated Marine Corps Maj. Gen. John W. Bergman for appointment as the commander, Marine Forces Reserve and commander, Marine Forces North, and for appointment to the rank of lieutenant general. Bergman is currently serving as the director, Reserve Affairs Division, Quantico, Virginia.
