Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announced today that the President has nominated Army Maj Gen. Ronald L. Burgess, Jr. for appointment to the rank of lieutenant general and assignment as deputy director of National Intelligence for Customer Outcomes, National Intelligence Directorate, Washington, D.C. Burgess is currently serving as the director, J-2, The Joint Staff, Washington, D.C.
