General Officer Announcement
Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announced today that the President has nominated Army Gen. Burwell B. Bell III for reappointment to the grade of general and assignment as commander, United Nations Command/Combined Forces Command/U.S. Forces Korea. Bell is currently serving as commanding general, U.S. Army Europe and Seventh Army/ commander, Allied Land Component Command Heidelberg, North Atlantic Treaty Organization/commanding general, U.S. Army, North Atlantic Treaty Organization, Germany.
