Flag Officer Announcement
Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announced today that the President has nominated Navy Rear Adm. Patrick M. Walsh for appointment to the grade of vice admiral and assignment as commander, U.S. Naval Forces, Central Command and commander, FIFTH Fleet in Bahrain. Walsh is currently serving as director, programming division, N80, and director, Navy Quadrennial Defense Review (QDR), N8, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Pentagon, Washington, D.C.
