DoD Identifies Army Casualty

The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Sgt. 1st ClassKyle B. Wehrly, 28, of Galesburg, Ill., died in Ashraf, Iraq, on Nov. 3, when an improvised explosive device detonated near his HMMWV during patrol operations. Wehrly was assigned to the Army National Guard's 2nd Battalion, 123rd Field Artillery, Macomb, Ill.
