DoD Identifies Army Casualty
The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.
Cpl. Matthew P. Steyart, 21, of Mount Shasta, Calif., died in Shah Wali Kot, Afghanistan, on Nov. 22, when an improvised explosive device detonated near his HMMWV during patrol operations. Steyart was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 508th Infantry Regiment, Vicenza, Italy.
