General Officer Announcement

Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announced today that the President has nominated Army Brig. Gen. Kathleen M. Gainey for the appointment to the grade of major general.

Gainey is currently serving as deputy chief of staff, C-4, resources and sustainment, Multi-National Force-Iraq.
