GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William J. Perry announced today that
the President has
nominated Maj. Gen. Dennis L. Benchoff, United States Army, for
appointment to the grade of lieutenant general and assignment as
deputy commanding general, United States Army Materiel Command,
Alexandria, Va. Since September 1995, he has served as the
deputy chief of staff for Logistics and Operations, United States
Army Materiel Command, Alexandria, Va.
Benchoff was born on Dec. 23, 1939, in Waynesboro, Pa.
