GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William J. Perry announced today that
the Secretary of the Air Force has recommended Lt. Gen. Edgar R.
Anderson Jr., United States Air Force, for advancement to the
grade of lieutenant general on the retired list. Anderson is
currently serving as the surgeon general of the Air Force,
Headquarters United States Air Force, Bolling AFB, Washington,
D.C.
Anderson was born March 13, 1940, in Baton Rouge, La.
