GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William J. Perry announced today that
the President has nominated Maj. Gen. Frank B. Campbell, United
States Air Force, for appointment to the grade of lieutenant
general with assignment as commander, 12th Air Force, Air Combat
Command; commander, United States Southern Command Air Forces,
United States Southern Command; and Air Force component
commander, United States Strategic Command, Davis-Monthan Air
Force Base, Arizona. Campbell is currently assigned as the
director, Requirements, Headquarters Air Combat Command, Langley
AFB, Va.
Campbell was born July 17, 1944, in Conway, S. C.
